Gillian
Beale was born in East Yorkshire and studied art in Leeds and
Lincoln.
Despite her great fondness for Yorkshire, it is rural Lincolnshire that has
stimulated much of her art work. She is captivated by the broad open skies and the wildlife that the unspoilt
countryside around her has to offer.

Having travelled extensively, she compares the huge bowl-like landscapes and
skies in Lincolnshire with the best in the world.
Many of her
paintings reflect the interaction of time and space that one becomes acutely
aware of, surrounded by such light and ethereal beauty.
Working to private commissions she has many
major works within Britain's stately homes and private collections in Europe
and the USA. A member of Lincolnshire Arts Society, Gillian has exhibited in
France and England, as well as at numerous venues in Lincolnshire. Her
latest being a series of paintings inspired by Balinese life, in
association
with the NEKA gallery of Bali, Indonesia.
Gillian has been engaged by Lincolnshire Libraries and Recreational Services
to undertake art displays and has taught regularly with Lincolnshire
Education Department. Her art studio is based in the beautiful Elizabethan
village of Doddington, six miles south of the historic city of Lincoln.
In addition to temporary exhibitions at other galleries, examples of her
work are permanently on display at Hemswell Antique Centre, open every day -
except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day - from 10:00a.m. to
5:00p.m. Hemswell is the largest indoor antique centre in Europe, situated
one mile from Caenby Corner on the A631 en route to Gainsborough in the
County of Lincolnshire.
